Alex Interview Frame.JPEG

Alexander Ardisson is a self described Jumpersmith, operating under the umbrella of Franco Bollo. His work subverts value systems and translates un-curated daily life into contemporary craft.

He makes heavily worked pieces that sit in-between drawing, documentary and fashion.

Hand craft and visible strokes are pivotal to his work. Using his tools with certainty and precision allows the work to visibly carry time, depth and consideration.

The projects usually begin by plugging into a live source and working with what is given back. Whether through immediate participation, bootlegging, documenting, investigation or long distance collaboration, Alexander is interested in questioning value and letting real life shape the work rather than forcing a fixed outcome.

When a painting can be any size, with any colour you like, about anything you want, it is impossible. Allowing this un-curated daily life set his parameters, gifts Alexander the conviction he needs to be bold.

Franco Bollo presents as a clothing brand, yet is often acting against the logic expected of one. Business logic is boring, and you find the special stuff when you oppose it head on.
